valley to the west.  You can see for miles from this vantage point, but what
you see is miles and miles of forest.  Swift birds of prey are swarming above
you and seem intent on diving on to the mountain to the northeast. The path
leads on to the mountain above or you can return to southwest.

     The trail takes a swift turn north here, and just off to the east you view
a ledge.  The animals are more scarce here, but still in evidence. This rocky
path also leads back down to the southwest. As you trudge upward the air seems
to be thinning as it is becoming more difficult to breathe.

     The path ends abruptly here at the base of a stoney cliff.  Littering the
ground are dead creatures of all sorts.  There seems to be human, elven,
gnomish, and halfling bodies scattered about.  Some are nailed to the walls of
this mountain with steel spikes, others are impaled upon wooden stakes set deep
in the ground.  This appears to be a sacrifice area of some sort, but to whom
the sacrifices are dedicated you can only guess.  Far above you is a hole in
the face of the cliff.  There doesnt appear to be any possible way to reach it.
