with an unevenly cut surface, Mackloti appears to be made of hard granite.

you see a face;  she's a rock.  No, you think there is an anthropomorphic
(never thought you'd see THAT word here?) visage carved into one of the rock's
sides.  Mackloti looks back at you with a sort of detached serenity, her
features strikingly dull in their imperviousness.
She is in very bad shape.
