Shadowfall Ruins

     You are in Old Shadowfall, a ruined section of the city that is avoided by
the townsfolk, for monsters prowl these areas, and they try to attack the town
often. The place is a mixture of forest and rubble, with weeds and bushes
growing where cobbled streets once were. Only rarely do you catch a glimpse of
the ruins of a building. The ruins continue to the West, and you can see a
bridge to the East. To the South you notice the banks of a river, and to the
north you notice a trail heading into the forest.

should you wish to return to safety. To the East, you see a bridge in the
distance. A large lake lies to the North, and more ruins lie to the South.

Main Street

     You are walking along the Main Street in Shadowfall. The street continues
to the West, but has apparently been left to fall apart to the East. To the
North, you see a large lake, but its waters hold no boats. To the South, you
see the ruins of a small shop.

Main Street

     You are walking along the Main Street in Shadowfall. To the West, the
street leads to a marketplace. To the East, the road continues. The North is
blocked by rubble, and to the South lie the slums that make up the bulk of
Shadowfall. These slums are comprised mainly of a mixture of ruined buildings
and piecemeal hovels, all teeming with Shadowfall's dregs and wretches.

Main Street

     You are walking down the Main Street in Shadowfall. To the East, the
street continues. To the West lies the Shadowfall Marketplace. The view North
is blocked by the ruins of some barracks, and to the South lie the dirty slums
that Shadowfall is known for.

Shadowfall Marketplace

     The Shadowfall Marketplace is a large square of activity in this quiet,
grimy city. There are booths and stalls placed haphazardly all over the square,
not all of them showing their wares proudly. You think that you could find
almost anything for sale here, if you have the money to buy it with. There are
scraps of paper strewn all over the floor.

streets there, only alleys and paths through a mixture of ruined buildings and
piecemeal hovels, all teeming with Shadowfall's dregs and wretches.  A heavily
fortified building is to the south.  Above the door in big bold letters you
notice the words "GUARD HALL".
