As you watch the land sink beneath the eastern sea, you try to recall to which
God a mariner prays for deliverance.
At a shout from above, you look up to see a sailor gesticulating wildly
southward
You turn only to be knocked over and thoroughly drenched by a huge flume of
water.
Dazed, you look around to see a large chunk of railing completely gone and the
shape of a wildly writhing shark at your feet.
As if recognizing you as it's next meal, the shark lunges at your legs.
Before you can react, the shark passes barely missing you, and clamps his
teeth into the main mast.
The ship shudders as the mast shears cleanly and slowly topples into the sea,
carrying the shark and the luckless sailor with it.
Your heart pounding, you hear a shout from forward that can only mean "Land
Ho" and you can see the docks of Belgar's Haven in the distance.
You quickly move to the foremost part of the ship and prepare to leap for your
life in case the crew docks as well as they sail.
But, as if in answer to your prayers, the ship floats smoothly to the pier and
docks without incident. You may consider kissing the ground as your next duty.
