As you proceed cautiously through the gloomy forest, something crackles
underfoot. When you step back to see what it was, you are startled to see a
deathly sharp arrow in the path. You instinctively grasp your weapon, cursing
the gods for the fog and gloom in this forboding place.

The sound of your footsteps seem to echo throughout the forest no matter how
little noise you attempt to make. Scraggly skeletons of trees tower high above
you, and for a moment you imagine you hear heavy breathing coming from a thick
vale of trees to your right. You foolishly dismiss it as the wind.

The fog has lifted in some places here, allowing you to see the ground in
several spots. You smile as your vision improves slighty, but then your mood

returns two-fold when you see dozens of footprints leading from this area out
to the protective cover of the forest.

Silent Forest
You jump slightly as a branch grazes the top of your head. The fog has
returned with a vengeance in this area, preventing you from seeing more than a
few feet ahead of you. You trip on a fallen branch and crash your head against
the base of a tree. As you sit, dazed, you see a glimmer of gold through the
leaves of the forest floor. The wind blows, however, and the fog rolls thickly
across the entire path, blocking everything from sight.
