Mysterious Statue
I was sittin' at the bar last night and this odd, scrawny-lookin fellow walks
in carrying some tools and mortar. He looked in dire need of a beer, so I
bought one and took it to his table. He looks up at me with this curious
expression and proceeds to tell me a strange tale indeed.
"I be a handy-man, ya see, and I goes from town to town repairing this and
that. Well I'm a walkin' by this big mansion, ya see, that really did need
a fixin' on the roof. So I gets the job and goes up there. I'm not even a
halfway finished when I back up into this statue that is up on the rooftop!
Why's it there, I don't know, but ya see, I knocked it over and broke a wing
off of it. I hurry's up and finishes me work for the day. This mornin' I
buys this mortar and head back up to fix what I broke, and lawd, it was a
fixed already! You couldn' even see where it had been a broken. 'Aint that
an odd thing!
