Unworthy and Undeserving

*sigh*
Baergon walked in here recently a long look on his face.
I tell ya. I hear a lot of peoples problems, sometimes it gets to be a bit
much.

Well actually he wasn't talking to me but was muttering to himself over a
cold one.
Fortunately or unfortunately I've become quite the eavesdropper over the
years.

It seems that some time ago a demon stole an artifact that he had discovered
hidden in the temple of Timion.  He had resolved to learn how it worked and
to duplicate it for he was certain that it held the secrets to a magic power
that his priests might learn.
Unable to penetrate the demon's magicks to recover the artifact he had
appealed to law abiding surface folk to go and slay this thing and bring its
scalp to him so that he could properly reward them with the first of duplicated
aritifacts. 

Apparently he was bitterly dissapointed by the lack of interest shown by the
surfacers and watched in growing rage as the inhabitants of the under dark
mocked him and did the service for him.

He was bewildered by the behaviour of those he thought his allies and in
frustration felt that his flock was unworthy of such a gift and smashed all
his research in but a moment with his hammer.

I think he's still angry as he stood up and left with the grimmest look i've
ever seen on someone's face.*sigh*
