It is night and the waning three quarter moon is hidden by the clouds.
This is the deck of the sloop S.S. Flanker. The Boatswain pipes the signal the captain is coming aboard. Sailors scramble about preparing to get under way. The ship and crew await the commands of the captain. Near the stern rests the important helm. The Cockswain echoes the Captain orders and the sailors scramble up the main mast swinging out to the yards, and the rigging. Others start to heave on a line. The Yeoman signals ordnances are set and ready for sail.

     This section of the Cliffbase Docks is for the docking of privately owned vessels.  The pier is worn but looks stable enough.  Mooring ropes lie coiled along the sides of the pier with stray bits of debris caught up in them.
